And, we’re not over yet–After knowing these beautiful Types of Pothos Varieties listed below, you’ll say, it’s beautiful, too!

Here’s everything you need to know about growing pothos

Best Types of Pothos Varieties

These best Types of Pothos Varieties can be easily maintained indoors with regular trimming. Pothos develops best in a slightly root-bound pot, and it grows slowly if you plant it in a much larger container than the size of its rootball.

1. Golden Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum

Indoor Length: 5-12 feet

The green foliage of golden pothos is splashed with a somewhat golden or yellow color. This is one of the most popular pothos varieties; leaves can be medium size, which changes to large in favorable conditions. The plant thrives outdoors in frost-free and warm areas and is considered invasive in humid tropical climates.

2. Marble Queen Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Marble Queen’

Indoor Length: 1-4 feet

The heart-shaped green leaves variegated with creamy white color are enough to pique interest in any surrounding, especially indoors. Its degree of variegation depends on the branch taken for propagation from the mother plant. Its foliage size is a bit smaller than golden pothos.

3. Neon Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Neon’

Indoor Length: 2-6 feet

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a unique colored foliage plant not only among pothos varieties but in any houseplant. Its leaves are golden-yellow to neon and appear to emit a faint glow. The younger leaves tend to show this glow even more distinctively than the older ones.

4. Jessenia Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Jessenia’

Indoor Length: 3-8 feet

You won’t have to worry about repotting Jessenia pothos anytime soon as it’s a slow grower. The foliage is heart-shaped and bears a close resemblance to Marble Queen Pothos with less prominent variegation. It has lighter and distinctive limey-green variegation.

5. Manjula Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Manjula’

Indoor Length: 2-5 feet

The leaves are green with the shape of a heart, just like other top pothos varieties, except for having wavy edges. Shades of silver, white, cream and light green variegation vary on each leaf. Some leaves are heavily flecked and splashed with green, some have large patches of white, and some have a mix of both.

6. Pearls and Jade Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Pearls and Jade’

Indoor Length: 2-7 feet

It’s a patented variety produced by the University of Florida. The white and silver-gray variegation of leaves is more on the edges compared to the middle. Also, the leaves are somewhat smaller in size than other pothos varieties.

7. Cebu Blue Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum pinnatum ‘Cebu Blue’

Indoor Length: 4-8 feet

Unlike other pothos, it has solid leaves. However, it does make up for it with the distinct glow of metallic sheen in the right lighting. Large blue-green leaves are arrow-shaped with natural splits. You can learn about more blue-green houseplants here!

8. Silver Pothos

Botanical Name: Scindapsus pictus

Silver Satin pothos belongs to a different genus, but it’s still considered a pothos variety. For the best color and variegation, let it bask in bright indirect light. The foliage is elegant and interesting, with shimmering dark green color and shiny silver spots and edges. It looks graceful in hanging baskets or simply spilling out from the pots.

9. Hawaiin Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum Pothos ‘Hawaiian’

Indoor Length: 3-15 feet

Probably one of the best pothos varieties if you’re looking for large foliage. It’s beginner-friendly, too, and immune to diseases. The large gold and green leaves are great for purifying indoor air. With time, the plant grows quite long, so prune it to maintain desired shape and size. It’s also good for growing in shady spots outdoors.

10. Jade Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Jade’

It’s commonly found in many tropical regions and is native to Polynesia. In a pot, it adds a relaxed appeal to apartments and offices. You can place the containers on any elevated spot from where they’ll cascade down. Heart-shaped leaves with solid dark green color make it stand out from other pothos.

11. N-Joy Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘N-Joy’

Though it might look like Manjula pothos at first glance, its foliage has different variegation and hues of greens, whites, and yellows than it. It is one of the best pothos varieties on the list to keep on a shelf where it will dangle down beautifully with its long curling stems.

12. Snow Queen Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Snow Queen’

Indoor Length: 3-6 feet

Snow Queen, as the name suggests, has stunning white markings on the leaves, very much like Marble Queen Pothos. The only difference being the snow queen has more pronounced white variegation, whereas the marble pothos has a pale hue.

13. Harlequin Pothos

Botanical Name: Epipremnum aureum ‘Harlequin’

Harlequin is the rarest pothos you can lay your hands on. It looks a lot like Manjula and looks like a mix of marble and snow queen pothos with a little more variegation on the leaves. If you truly want to enhance its beauty, pair it up with jade or silver pothos.
