How to Grow Perfect Bunch of Peace Lilies with These Tips!

1. Plant a Couple of Them Together

The best way to ensure your peace lilies remain healthy and happy is to plant a couple of them together in the same large pot. This will give you two benefits:

  • This way, the plants will support each other and grow well in pot-bound conditions.
  • Grouping 2-3 plants in a pot will make them appear lush, big, and bushy!

2. Let Your Plant Remember Where it Belongs

Maintaining good humidity will imitate the tropical environment these plants are native to. The best way to do this is to group plants together, or misting the foliage regularly, or keeping its pot on a pebble tray filled with water.

You can also get a humidifier or grow them in the bathroom.

3. Stake them After Relocation!

Peace lilies can not immediately hold the soil strongly post repotting, which makes it tough for them to stand upright. For a perfect balance, support it by using a sturdy wooden stake.

Gently insert the stake in the pot without damaging the roots. Attach the peace lily to stake with the help of a twine. When the plant becomes established, remove the stake.

4. Use this Magic Potion

According to Florida University Extension, gibberellic acid encourages flowering in peace lilies and also assists in healthy and lush growth. For best results, use it in 125, 250, or 375 ppm, once in 2 to 3 months.

Note: Overuse of Gibberellic Acid can make the plant wilt or die.

5. Keep Things Slighty Rootbound!

Keep your peace lilies in a slightly root-bound state as it will promote flowering. In such conditions, the plant will direct its energy into producing beautiful white bracts instead of spreading its roots.

6. Don’t Treat it Like an Infant

Peace lilies don’t like overcaring parents, so you don’t have to feed them all the time. Take a backseat when it comes to feeding the plant, avoid heavy fertilization, and do it once in 4-6 weeks.

Use a balanced liquid fertilizer, diluted to 1/4 of its strength. Check the label for instruction.

7. Sunbathe, Anyone?

Avoid keeping your peace lily in a dark room or a shaded spot all the time. If you have a bright balcony or a patio, it will be a great idea to let it sunbathe in the morning for 2-3 hours.

Keep your peace lily plants where they get bright but indirect light all day. An east-facing window will provide the best combination of light and shade.
